Driver In Single-Vehicle Rollover Pleads Not Guilty

A 21-year-old Hernandez man involved in a July 9 single-vehicle rollover on Diamond Drive pleaded not guilty to charges of driving under the influence, speeding and open container Monday before Municipal Judge Alan Kirk.

Bobbyray Sisneros was arrested after Los Alamos Police and Fire Department personnel responded at 8 p.m. to the scene of the crash. Sisneros and his two passengers were transported to Los Alamos Medical Center where they were treated for minor injuries.

LAPD Officers In High Speed Chase

Los Alamos Police Officers were involved in a high speed pursuit Thursday afternoon, which ended in a Colorado man being apprehended in Nambe. Carl Johann Black, 37, of Colorado Springs faces several charges in connection with the chase.

It began around 1:45 p.m. when LAPD Dispatch notified Cpl. David Boe of a possible reckless driver in a silver mini-van traveling along Diamond Drive toward  the mesas. Senior Lifetime NPS Passes $10 Until Aug. 28

Bandelier National Monument Superintendent Jason Lott suggests anyone 62 or older and thinking about buying a National Parks Lifetime Senior Pass do so before Aug. 28 at Bandelier.

“That’s when the price of the pass will increase from $10 to $80,” Lott said. “After that, it will cost $20 a year for a senior pass or $80 for a lifetime senior pass.”

Two Los Alamos Nukes rugby players, Joey Sorenson and Preston Brown, were on the New Mexico All-Stars rugby team which won the under 19 out-of-state championship at the June 24 Denver 7s Rugby Tournament.

The All-Stars team is selected at open try-outs and on the basis of their performance throughout the regular season and are some of the best young rugby players in the state. The team has trained extensively since the end of the regular reason. Read More

James Lind Charged With Fourth Offense DWI

James K. Lind, 50 of Los Alamos was arrested July 8 and charged with fourth offense driving under the influence after Los Alamos Police officers responded to two calls reporting a reckless driver coming up the main hill road driving 10 miles an hour.

The same vehicle had been called in to LAPD Dispatch earlier driving on N.M. 4 and Rover Boulevard in White Rock.
