Man Arrested For Aggravated Assault At Restaurant

A White Rock man was charged with aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony and disorderly conduct Saturday evening after he became disgruntled with employees at Rigoberto’s Taco Shop and threatened to go to his vehicle and get his gun.

Annual Cancer Survivors Dinner Aug. 12

The Annual Cancer Survivor Dinner has been slated for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 at Cottonwood On The Greens.

All cancer survivors are invited to attend with a guest. The dinner is being hosted by the American Cancer Society Los Alamos Relay for Life and Los Alamos Medical Center.

The purpose of the dinner is to honor and celebrate those who have fought cancer or are fighting cancer as well as one caregiver or member of their support system. There is no cost for tickets but those who plan to attend should register in advance. All information on those attending will be kept confidential. Read More

Update: Driver In Single Vehicle Rollover Accident Arrested For Suspicion Of DWI

Los Alamos Police and Fire Department personnel responded to a single-vehicle rollover at 8 p.m. Sunday at Diamond Drive and Ridgeway. The driver, Bobbyray Sisneros, 21 of Hernandez, was cited for speeding and open container and was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. Eckhart Charged With July 4 Battery On Police Officer

A Los Alamos man racked up a second charge of battery against a police officer during the July 4 celebration at Overlook Park in White Rock after striking an officer on the forehead with his head.

Los Alamos Police Sgt. Chris Ross was on bike patrol at the park when a family sitting on the ground in anticipation of the fireworks show alerted him to Garrett Eckhart, 35, who was allegedly intoxicated and asked if Ross could get him to leave.
