The FBI and Navajo Department of Criminal Investigations are asking the public for information regarding an apparent hit-and-run death that occurred last Saturday night in Fruitland, N.M.
Stanley Begay, a 51-year-old Navajo man, was found dead on Navajo Route 36, near Mile Post 17, about 15 miles southwest of Farmington, at about 8:46 p.m. Saturday.
Begay was walking along Navajo Route 36 when he apparently was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene.
No witnesses have come forward.
