ALAN TODD THAL Feb. 2, 1960 – May 14, 2025

Alan Todd Thal, age 64 of Los Alamos, New Mexico, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024 at University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico after a short fight with brain cancer.

Interment will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 14 in Lutheran Trinity Church Cemetery of Watertown.

Alan Todd Thal was born Feb. 2, 1960 in Watertown, the son of Sharon and Dr Leland Thal. Alan grew up in Watertown and was a graduate of Watertown High School. He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Alan had one daughter, Rhiannon Vrooman.

Alan enjoyed swimming at the YMCA and community city pool, did outdoor camping and hiking the trails in Los Alamos area. He was devoted to his daughter. He’ll be remembered for his talkative nature and caring personality. Alan Thal is preceded in death by his parents Dr Leland Thal and Sharon Louise Thal. Alan is survived by family: brother Steven Thal and wife Peggy Brakken Thal of Plymouth, brother Brian Thal of Mesquite, Nevada, daughter Rhiannon Vrooman of Bargersville, Indiana. other relatives and many dear friends.
