RAYMOND HAROLD VOOS July 6, 2025
Raymond Harold Voos died peacefully in his home in Rio Rancho, NM on July 6, 2025. He dedicated 25 years of his career to Los Alamos National Laboratory as a prototype machinist before retiring in 1993. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Rutheron, NM, where they spent their winter months “snowbirding” throughout the US before settling down in Rio Rancho, NM.
A polio survivor, Ray wasn’t one to let disability keep him down. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, skeet shooting, waterskiing, and bowling.
He volunteered his free time coaching youth sports, working with the auxiliary fire brigade, and marshaling golf events. In his later years, he enjoyed playing billiards, collecting antique fishing tackle, and wood carving.
Raymond was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon, and his beloved wife, Evelyn, with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage. He is survived by his two sons, Tim (with partner Sara) and Eric (with partner Lori), and his three grandchildren, Cameron, Zoe, and Kaley.
Arrangements have been made through French’s Funeral and Cremations. He will find his final resting place with his wife at Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos, NM.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Post Polio Health International.
