WILLIAM BRIAN SEDLACEK Oct. 19, 1964 – Feb. 24, 2026

William Brian Sedlacek, affectionately known as Brian, was born on October 19, 1964, in Laramie, Wyoming. He passed away at the age of 61 on February 24, 2026, in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Brian was a high achiever in computers and took great pleasure in learning languages throughout his life. He pursued his education at the University of California, Santa Cruz, which laid the groundwork for a career that would see him retire from the Los Alamos National Laboratory when the timing felt right to him.

A man of remarkable resilience, Brian was often regarded as a medical miracle from birth to death, which only added to the depth of his character. He embodied a spirited and curious personality, proudly embracing the labels of a “nerdy” conversationalist and a person of steadfast faith. He held firm conservative beliefs and enjoyed engaging in discussions that reflected his views.

Brian was a dedicated community member, giving his time and energy as a Deacon, where he found fulfillment in serving others. His passion for life was evident in his hobbies; he was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan since childhood, and he had an enduring love for sci-fi and a deep understanding of the world of computers.

Brian cherished being a father to three, a role he embraced with deep pride. The memories of his life will be fondly remembered by those fortunate enough to know him, including many conversations that sparked connection and curiosity.

As we remember William Brian Sedlacek, we celebrate a life marked by achievements in education, career, and community, underpinned by an enduring spirit of resilience, love and faith.
