Perch Paperie at 13 Sherwood Blvd. in White Rock, is a mecca for all kinds of crafters on the Hill. This month, the store is offering three special classes.

Advance notice of attendance is not required, but is greatly appreciated. Call the store at 672-8064 to register or for more information.

Looking for something less structured? The first and third Friday of the month is Ladies Night Out. From 6-8 p.m., crafters are invited to bring projects they are working on and a snack to share for a fun and creative evening. These events are free and open to all.

‘Food on the Hill’: Caramel Banana Bread

Caramel Banana Bread
 
4 cups bread flour
2 cups of walnut pieces
1 ½ cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
8 tablespoons butter- melted
3 eggs
2 teaspoons caramel extract (can find it in Santa Fe or Internet)
½ cup caramel ice cream syrup in glass jar– plus ¾ cup to drizzle over each piece of bread during plating 6 large bananas mashed but with little lumps still in them.
