A white van on Central Avenue attempted to enter East Road at about 2:15 p.m. today when it struck a Toyota 4 Runner, causing it to flip over and land on its side on East Road. Vehicle Accident Closes Truck Route

A County trash truck was sideswiped this afternoon while heading down the truck route by a car going uphill. The driver of the car left his lane and collided with the trash truck.
Los Alamos Firefighters used the jaws of life to remove the driver from his car. LAFD is transporting him to Los Alamos Medical Center with unknown injuries.
The gas tank on the trash truck punctured and leaked some fuel onto the ground where the accident occurred.
Hazmat is removing the fuel spill and the vehicles are in the process of being towed from the area.

June 14 at 2:51 p.m. / A 45-year-old Los Alamos woman reported that her cell phone estimated at $251.99 was stolen on North Mesa Road. The phone was later recovered and charges are pending against the alleged thief.
June 14 at 6:39 p.m. / A 39-year-old Los Alamos man reported that someone stole the license plate from his trailer parked on Mariposa Court. The estimated loss is less than $250.

On May 20, the Consolidated Dispatch Center received a call that 28-year-old Jamie Ireland of Los Alamos had sustained injuries after an accidental fall at 802 9th St.
Los Alamos Fire Department was dispatched to the scene and transported Ireland to Los Alamos Medical Center.
Ireland was subsequently transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Santa Fe.
On May 21, the Los Alamos Police Department was notified by personnel at St. Vincent’s that the injuries sustained by Ireland were serious and potentially fatal.

The driver of a small hatchback sedan collided with a deer at about 6 p.m., today on Diamond Drive near the Los Alamos Golf Course.
“The deer jumped out in front of the car, landed on the hood and smashed into the windshield,” Deputy Fire Chief Justin Grider said.
The driver and a passenger are fine, Grider said, but the deer is dead.
